Now I have not heard much from Jhené Aiko but from the songs I have been able to hear she looks to be a female R&B singer to look forward to in 2013.
She is currently signed to No I.D.'s record label Artium distributed through Def Jam Recordings.
In 2011 Jhene released her mixtape called 'Sailing Souls'. The mixtape displayed not only her talents for singing but her talents for song writing with the majority of the songs bar the exception of a few, written by herself. The mixtape showcased her beautiful soulful voice accompanied with features from Drake, Kanye West, Miguel, Gucci Mane and Kendrick Lamar. Being signed with No I.D. will allow her to collaborate with the rest of Cocaine 80s, and we can expect they will also be featured on her upcoming Def Jam debut album, 'Souled Out'. Jhene looks to be definitely someone to look out for in the future, with her soulful singing style and her ability to write songs, 2013 is the year to look out for her. Especially with her new album on the horizon and the team up with the Cocaine 80s we may see in her own words, 'the female voice of the group'.
